Classic Marilyn flamboyance and exuberance captured here with lush and masterful brushstrokes. Marilyn was Campeggi’s favorite subject – he painted her more times than any other Hollywood star, beginning with some of her early film posters, notably The Asphalt Jungle (1950) and The Seven Year Itch (1955), then his famous “close-up” series in the 1960’s, and finally a series of “remembrances” from which this original canvas is taken.
