Georges Lepape
Travesti
Pochoir
This is a genuine hand coloured, signed pochoir print from the exclusive 1912 Parisian fashion publication Modes et Manieres d'Aujourd'hui (Plate XII). One of a series of 12 pochoirs in a seminal work that defined Art Deco. The harlequin diamond pattern was a popular design of the time, especially for the grand costume balls. So in Lepape's homage to the styles of the day, he does not lose the oppotunity to play "dress-up". Brilliant colour and texture. H. 11.0in X W. 7.25in; H. 27.9cm X W. 18.4cm
