This is a hand coloured, signed pochoir print from the exclusive 1912 Parisian fashion publication Modes et Manieres d'Aujourd'hui (Plate II). One of a series of 12 pochoirs in a seminal work that defined the Art Deco period. Here Barbier combines two great early 20thC. themes with a play on words. His subject is the 'new' woman - mysterious, seriously self-confident. He portays her 'entracte', between scenes - a trendy glimpse into the high fashion lifestyle as Mme. contemplates her je ne sais quoi from the opera loge. A rich and stylish Lepape slice of high-life. H. 11.0in X W. 7.25in; H. 27.9cm X W. 18.4cm
