This is a genuine hand coloured, signed pochoir print from the exclusive 1912 Parisian fashion publication Modes et Manieres d'Aujourd'hui (Plate VI). One of a series of 12 pochoirs in a seminal work that defined the early French (or 'Romantic')Art Deco period. Here we see a few common themes of this period combined: the Japanese influence in the vegetation, the 'Lampshade Tunic' and slim line skirt in the couture, and the theme of the woman being (at last) the sole recipient of abundance and freedom as fruits rain down upon her. Pure poetry!
