Georges Lepape
Le Rideau Qui S'Ecarte
Pochoir
SOLD
This is a genuine hand coloured, signed pochoir print from the exclusive 1912 Parisian fashion publication Modes et Manieres d'Aujourd'hui (Plate X). One of a series of 12 pochoirs in a seminal work that defined Art Deco. Here the emphasis is on long vertical lines to create the "tall and thin" look that was so in vogue in America through the 1940's and '50's. Not many realize that it all began here, with the collaberation of Paul Poiret and Georges Lepape, in Paris in 1912! A rich and textural piece. H. 11.0in X W. 7.25in; H. 27.9cm X W. 18.4cm
