Le Parfum De La Rose
Hand coloured pochoir print from the highly collectible Gazette du Bon Ton, Issue #10 (1924), Plate #58. Classic "high" Art Deco, this image is frequently documented in art books. The simplicity of the powerful yet understated image is in the tradition of the great 19thC poster artists such as Lautrec, Steinlen, etc. The image at once idealizes and sentimentalizes the New Woman, with the abbreviated trend-setter cloche hat, very non-traditional, and by contrast the romantic, seductive feminine, traditionally emotive rose. H. 9.75in X W. 7.5in; H. 24.4cm X 19.1cm
