This is a hand-coloured, plate-signed pochoir print, in fact, a rare first fashion plate from the exclusive Gazette Du Bon Ton - Volume One, Plate One, 1912. Graphically evident is the influence of the new Cubist movement, with the dramatically stark and pared down geometry of the figure and setting.
A lovely iridescent gold ink has been used to render the panelling on this winter greatcoat. H. 9.625in X W. 7.5in; H. 24.4cm X W. 19.1cm |
