Georges Lepape
1915 L'Ouragan
Pochoir
This is a pochoir print from the highly collectible Gazette du Bon Ton, the rare WWI Issue #8-9 (Summer 1915), Plate #1. Lepape's covert and emotional appeal as France, symbolized in the tri-colour dress pattern, is blow away by the "hurricane" of bomb bursts. A truly stunning and historic piece of fashion illustation (see also Lepape's "Vive La France" cover for Vogue Magazine - 1917). H. 9.625in X W. 7.375in; H. 24.4cm X 18.7cm
