Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh - study for the poster of the film, hand-signed by the artist lower left - an incredibly rare piece of motion picture and Hollywood history. Gone with the Wind premiered in Atlanta Georgia on Dec 15,1939 and was re-released for theatres by MGM Studios in 1941, 1947, 1954, 1961, 1968 & 1971. Over all these years, Campeggi’s original concept - Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in embrace with Atlanta burning in the background – has been re-worked and interpreted into many variations, and this indeed is one of them. The interesting thing to see is that the Blue Ray DVD release for Christmas 2009 remained ever-faithful to the concept – another variation on an iconic theme now well woven into the American psyche. To own this is to own a piece of American Cultural History that is truly Smithsonian in proportion. Approx. dimensions: H.26in. X W.25in; H.66.0cm X W.63.5cm
