Hand coloured, pochoir print from Modes et Manières d'Aujourd'hui: 1920, Plate VI. Limited to only 300 copies, the "M&M" audience was the very wealthy. Each annual issue featured text of poetry, fashion and entertainment, illustrated in a series of 12 pochoirs. Each edition was devoted exclusively to one artist who set his pieces around a theme - in this case the 'life of the liberated woman'. And, of course, she must be seen at all the right places, in this case, according to the text, at the opening performance of Isadora Duncan in her arresting diaphanous frock, where the stage becomes but a backdrop for her portentous arrival.
