This is a hand coloured pochoir from La Gazette Du Bon Ton, Issue #12, 1913, Plate VIII. A very early Marty commission for the House of Doeuillet, he depicts a carefree time when society ladies (and wealthy Americans on "The Grand Tour") made summer visits to scenic and romantic locations, in this instance the hills of Tuscany. Madame's chapeau is in silver ink, as is the trim on her "afternoon gown". Approx. overall dimensions: H. 9.5in X W. 7.125in; H. 24.1cm X W. 18.1cm |
