This hand-colored pochoir print was produced as Plate #73 of Issue #10 of Gazette du Bon Ton - 1920. Archetypal Art Deco design components, universally acknowledged as truly a classic "masterpiece" that captures in spare and dramatic outline the spirit of the times. The Art Deco elegance is accentuated with the faint attenuated lines of the Borzoi. The artist's plate-signature fancifully follows the curvature of the neck. Stark Cubistic elements reflect the new spirit, yet this image is also curiously warm and intimate. Quite a tour de force!
