This is a hand-colored, plate-signed pochoir print produced as Plate #V of issue #4 of the Gazette du Bon Ton (February 1913) - the second year of publication. The early GBT issues are more rare and particularly known for their rich pochoir colouring. Here Lepape illustates the "concept" clothing of the day, the precursor to today's wild and experimental/tongue-in-cheek "runway" fashion. This could well have been a design for the many costume balls that were in their heyday. H 9.625in X W 7.5in; H24.4cm X W 19.1cm |
