A hand-coloured, plate-signed pochoir print from Gazette du Bon Ton, Issue No.7, Plate IX, May 1913. This is an exceptional example of the pochoir art: the lace effect on the dress is truly three dimensional owing to the thickly layered gouache - an almost palette knife quality, but of course applied in perfect pattern through the stencil process that is pochoir. This is about as close to a hand-painted, unique piece as one can get. The indigo blue is stunning in its intensity. H. 9.75in X W. 7.625in; H. 24.8cm X W. 19.4cm |
