This is a hand coloured pochoir from the highly collectible Gazette du Bon Ton, Issue #2 (1921), Plate #15. Quintessentially representative of "la petite dramatique" that created so much of the GBT charm. With his sense of wit and observation Barbier captures the transfer of the first pheromomes, that quickening of the heart from which there is no return. As well he heralds the latest deBeer evening dress with its implicit seductive promise of True Love. Wonderfully saturated colours.
