This is a hand-colored pochoir print produced as Plate #12 of the Gazette du Bon Ton (Feb. 1914) - the third year of publication. The early GBT issues are more rare and particularly known for their exquisite pochoir technique. This stylish depiction of neo-Classical elegance features a great deal of sparkling gold colouring with rich accent colours. Interesting is his sumptuous use of colour on one figure, while the other is nearly ghostlike in its absence of colour...a brilliant and creative juxtaposition by the artist.
