This is a hand coloured, plate-signed pochoir print produced as a supplement to the publication "Art et Decoration", September 1913. It was intended for, and eventually used as the menu cover for the main dining salon of the famous Savoy Hotel in London. This image is documented in the book "From the Ballets Russes to Vogue: The Art of Georges Lepape" Vendome Press, New York (1983), Page 81. The lower half of the image is gold metallic, as are the fruits on the tray, the beads and the scarf highlights. Also available is the actual and complete (30 double-sided pages and a 10 page Supplement) above mentioned "Art et Decoration" magazine (Sept.1913) in which Lepape is the leading focus, with 11 double sided pages, some in offset color, featuring his artistic achievements. A rare, historical and colourful artwork, richly enhanced by the (optional)accompanying magazine. H. 11.0in X W. 7.875in; H. 27.9cm X W. 20.0cm |
